$1,000 trip to the zoo

$571 for a new fuel pump
$51 for zoo admission tickets
Roos first trip in a tow truck -- PRICELESS

Chris and I started our day with the perfectly simple plan of taking Roo on her first trip to the Philadelphia Zoo to see the other roos. Of course, everywhere Chris and I go... disaster follows. We made it all the way to Interstate 476 just outside Philadelphia when the car quit on us! It just stopped!

I don't know what my favorite part of the day was... Roo's first trip in a flat bed tow truck, the colorful words that began spewing from Chris mouth, the terrific picnic lunch Rylee enjoyed during the hour we spent on the side of the turnpike, the 85 degree heat, the bright orange rental vehicle that finally got us to the zoo or the 10 mile hike from the zoo's back-up parking lot (otherwise known as a local little league field).

Chris and Rylee in the back seat of the tow truck. (We had to wait for a special tow truck to come from the other side of Philly, so that Roo would safely be in a back seat -- as you know, most tow trucks only have one bench seat).

Chris feeding Rylee in the safety of the zoo -- much better than the side of the Interstate!

Rylee outside "Big Cat Country" at the Philadelphia Zoo... wondering if we can go home yet! BTW: she slept through the kangaroo habitat!
