Applesauce

Anyone with a husband, brother, father, boyfriend, man-friend will appreciate this story.

Chris LOVES applesauce. He's a big fan of Musselman's Original Applesauce. Eats it with almost every meal. So, last night, I bought some fresh-from-the-tree apples, pealed them and made homemade, hot-from-the-stovetop applesauce for dinner. HE HATED IT.

First, he started with... "I don't think applesauce is supposed to be hot. I've never heard of hot applesauce." When I pointed out that apple pie is hot, as is apple crisp -- he retorted with "I've never had either of those hot." I should have known that it would get worse from there!

It was too chunky. Couldn't I put it in a blender. It was too sweet. He didn't like the texture. Maybe it would be better cold.

I thought it was delicious. Hot and a little spicy -- just like apple pie filling!

BTW: Rylee hated it too. She made the same face that her father did and spit it out. Next year for Halloween Chris and Mini-Chris are going to be two peas in a pod. ARGH!!!!!
