All of her teachers, women and men
Worked to put RooBear together again.
Our brut of a daughter has been taking nose dives at school and at home in her persistant efforts to learn to walk. I'm thinking about buying her a helmet. Her Center Director has suggested that head-to-toe bubble wrap might make a good halloween costume.
We had not one, but two, incident (read: accident) reports to sign yesterday, since Roo decided to take a nose dive off a piece of furniture in the morning and then knock her head against the floor in the afternoon. The afternoon stunt left her with a swollen bridge of her nose and a nice purple mark on her forehead.
The good news is, she only cries for about 30 seconds, and once you pick her up she's fine -- ready to take another tumble. Poor Roo just gets soooo frustrated. She can pull herself up and cruise (hold onto furniture as she walks) but she wants to let go like the rest of the kids. (Imagine how much faster she could get to Simon?!?!?!) Unfortunately, she's just soooo tiny and her little legs aren't strong enough yet, so forward she falls.

UPDATE: The injuries discussed above happened on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I picked Rylee up and rec'd yet another incident report -- she hit herself in the head with a swing. New bruise. Third incident report this week... for those of you keeping tabs.

Christmas is coming...
Dear Pop Pop:
Mommy and Daddy have been busy explaining the ins and outs of the Christmas holiday. It sounds interesting. I'm intrigued. Apparently, I'm supposed to suck up for months in order to get loads of new toys... like... maybe... a boat! So, I put this silly blue and red outfit on, cause Mommy said that it would place me squarely in the "nice" column on some list that you carry around. Mommy says that after this post, she'll never see her name in that column again...

Run Over by a Bus
I've just been informed by Roo Bear's teachers that I need to sign an "incident report" -- for like the 1,000,000th time -- because my accident prone daughter (hello, she's a Gerber!) ran herself over with a toy bus. That's right. She was in the toddler room (that's where she starts her day) and Mobile Milly pulled a large toy bus onto her head. About six months into my pregnancy, it occurred to me that Rylee would have Dana's blood running through her veins, and things like this would happen...
Apparently, the run-in with the bus didn't ruin her day. She's still having fun in her exersaucer!
BTW: This morning before I left I saw Roo petting another little girl's hair. Apparently, my daily mantra "Pet Simon nicely. Don't pull" is rubbing off on her... and working out well for her classmates as well.

Happy Birthday to Me!
I had such a FUNtastic birthday weekend! First we played host to two of our favorite house guests, Ma and Pa Ackinclose (who brought presents!) Happy with her gifts, Roo decided to pull out the big guns and crawl for Ma and Pa! Yep, that's right, the Divine Miss Roo is mobile! Watch out world!!!
We had a great dinner Friday night at one of our favorite restaurants (and Rylee slept almost the whole time!) On Saturday, we took Rylee to her second soccer game -- the first where she got to watch her Daddy coach. Thankfully, the Bridgewater Panthers won in overtime, so that preserved Daddy's good mood for the rest of the night :-)
Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy took the three munchkins (even Marley!) for a nice long walk in the beautiful fall weather, before watching a Steeler win! Who could ask for a better weekend?!?!?!?
My only complaint... Vanessa... who in her birthday voicemail, had to lay mention to the fact that she just turned 31... beeeatch!

1,000 Thanks!
