Chris and I are soooooo proud to introduce the world to Rylee Campbell Gerber. Rylee (a.ka. "Roo") was born on a very snowy February 3, 2009 (just two short days after the Steelers Superbowl win) at 9:45 AM. She weighed a healthy 6 lbs 7 oz and measured 19.5 inches long!
Roo and Mommy came home from the hospital Friday evening and are doing great. Daddy is our hero. As we speak, Mommy is sitting on the couch with her feet up, Roo is sleeping comfortably in her pack and play, and Daddy is vacuuming. We love him very much!!!!
Last night was our first night at home. The dogs surprised us with their ambivalence. Neither care that Rylee has invaded their home. They both sniffed her once and went on with their lives. Their reactions have left us pleasantly surprised.
We are also pleasantly surprised that Roo is eating and sleeping like a champ. Mommy, Daddy, Baby and Brothers got a ton of sleep last night (she only woke up for one middle of the night feeding).
Thank you to all our well wishers! We've gotten a ton of visitors, phone calls, text messages, cards and flowers. We promise to return all those phone calls when things settle down and Mommy is up and moving around a little more. Hugs to all!!!
Yay! I'm so glad things are go so well! She's a doll! And I can't wait to meet her and see you again!
